We are looking for a Maintenance Contract Coordinator to support the 
Gulf Coast (Bayport and Texas City) Styrene Monomer plants.

Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this position is to optimize the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of non-routine contracted maintenance work in line with all legal requirements and company standards with respect to health, safety, environment, product, quality and cost by planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the contracted work activities and monitoring performance. This position will support the Gulf Coast (Bayport and Texas City) Styrene Monomer plants. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Safety Leadership

  • Ensure the INEOS 20 Principles of Behavioral and Process Safety are learned, followed, practiced, and supported on a daily basis. Communicate and champion the INEOS 20 Principles and Life Saving Rules to empower and enable others
  • Be a safety role model/champion; ensure 100% safety compliance during all stages of maintenance activities
    • Arrange for workers to complete safety orientation with INSTY site safety rep 
    • Conduct JSAs with the contractor crews at job site; check-in with them during job execution to ensure safe work practices are applied 
    • Meet with vendor companies to discuss safety record and INSTY expectations 
    • Works with INSTY site safety rep and contractor to develop safety execution plans
  • Coordinate with operations to obtain safe work, hot work, confined space and excavation permits for contractors 

Job Planning & Scheduling 

  • Interface with planning to ensure all contractor jobs are ready for execution and have the proper resourcing and materials 
  • Participate in the schedule review process when applicable for specialty projects 
  • Participate and/or ensure construction input into engineering process
  • Participate in all daily maintenance update meetings, backlog reviews, PBL's, safety meetings, etc.

Job Execution 

  • Ensure INEOS Styrolution's design, maintenance and operation philosophies are followed during maintenance activities 
  • Identify and take action to eliminate productivity barriers 
  • Make adjustments as needed to remain on schedule and re-allocate contract resources appropriately 
  • Solicit feedback on executed jobs and make any necessary changes to ensure that planning and work efficiency continues to improve
  • Ensure contracted service workers work cooperatively with operations and maintenance personnel
  • Provide vacation relief for Maintenance department
  • Ensure permits are updated on time and turned in 
  • Ensure all scaffold, crane, material, bolt torque, hydro testing, loops sign off, and final inspection requirements are mett

Required Profile:

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Contruction Management Preferred 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance coordination or construction management 
  • Strong knowledge of all industrial crafts 
  • Ability to use SAP and the scheduling functionality 

Technical/Behavorial skills:

  • Understand the basic principles of mechanical, electrical and piping systems 
  • Understand construction quality assurance and control  
  • Understand different methods of project delivery and the roles and responsibiltiies of all constituencies involved in the design and construction process 
  • Apply electronic-based technology to manage the mechanical work process 
  • Analyze methods, materials, and equipment used to execute projects/repair work
  • Analyze construction/repair documents for planning and management of maintenance process
  • Understand maintenance/construction risk management 
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance and the maintenance work management process 
  • Ability to positively influence others and effectively work with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Makes timely and effective decisions, including use of good judgement and consideration of proper balance between benefits/risk
