The Position: MRO Buyer- Storeroom Purchasing -MRO (Maintenance Repair Operations) Buyer- Storeroom Purchasing role is to monitor and direct the stockroom and purchasing activities to ensure that parts and supplies are available when needed. They will work to maintain inventory, keep storeroom organized, oversee usage, pick up and deliver, complete compliance on transactional and physical replenishment and receiving process.

What you will do:

  • Maintain master data for materials and purchasing records, source lists in resource planning software, and prepare standard and customized reports
  • Process purchase orders, maintain stores receiving files, materials, and Goods Receipt (GR)
  • Review daily material requirements planning reports
  • Act on opportunities for cost reductions and improvements
  • Support and communicate with maintenance and reliability teams to propose stocking levels
  • Perform cycle counting activities to verify warehouse inventory
  • Accountable for receiving and storing materials, updating inventory, and material returns
  • Create goods issues from stock and deliver materials as required
  • Correspond with vendors for price, delivery date, and expediting purchase orders
  • Maintain and update the vendor files within the purchasing system
  • Process approximately 20 purchase orders a week

What you will bring:

  • 4+ years in purchasing, storeroom management or equivalent experience in an industrial environment
  • Proficiency using resource planning, inventory, and purchasing software (ERP or SAP)
  • Microsoft Office software
  • Self-guided and independent
  • Purchasing, vendor relationship, purchase orders, and bills of material
  • Forklift Certification or experience

Physical and Visual Abilities:

  • Frequent viewing of computer monitor, stooping/crouching, balancing, climbing, twisting/turning, reaching above shoulder level, simple grasping/manipulation of both hands, move up to 25lbs, pushing/pulling from a standing/seated position, firm grasping of both hands, operating machinery
  • Occasional exposure to dust/gas fumes, chemicals/solvents, temperature extremes, high noise levels and electrical sources, wearing occlusive clothing
  • Seldom exposure to allergic agents, enclosed spaces, kneeling, crawling, wet conditions and reduced lighting

The Location: This opportunity is located in Channahon, Illinois, only 10 miles from Joliet.
