MCP EI Superintendant

Runcorn MCP Limited is a 50/50 joint venture between Vynova (Part of the International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG) and INOVYN (Part of the INEOS Group) which operates a state-of-the-art membrane electrolysis plant for the production of Chlorine, Caustic Soda and Hydrogen . The plant is one of the largest cellrooms in Europe and is located at the Runcorn Site in Cheshire.

Main Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for the delivery of the C/E maintenance strategy by managing and developing the Runcorn MCP C/E tradesmen and completing all maintenance work safely, effectively, and to the required standard.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Manage and develop the C/E maintenance team to ensure effective support to Runcorn MCP via the safe delivery of Planned and Breakdown maintenance activities
  • Support the development and utilisation of work management systems to ensure all C/E work orders are identified, prioritised, planned and completed safely, on time, and to the required standard.
  • Supervise contractors as required, to ensure they deliver work safely and to the required standard.
  • Ensure that all maintenance spend linked to C/E work is approved and recorded 
  • Contribute to E/I Engineering Codal compliance by ensuring that all E/I PM CODED work orders and stat remedials are completed by their due dates

Key Skills and Knowledge Required

  • First-line manager with at least 5 years' experience in engineering and maintenance preferably with a C/E background
  • Excellent adherence to SHE standards and Codal compliance
  • Good understanding of the common process and material handling EI equipment
  • Ability to read P&IDs and ideally also EI drawings
  • Working knowledge of standard IT systems including MS Office and SAP
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills
  • Methodical approach and good problem-solving skills
  • Must display initiative, tenacity, and concern for impact
  • Prepared to challenge conventional norms and provide alternative solutions
  • Committed and flexible approach to work.
