INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Scientist to join our INEOS Composites business at our Porvoo Plant (Finland). This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Technology function. This position will report to our Technology Manager Marine & Wind.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Defines independently problem statement and project objective based agreed project portfolio.
- Develops approach, analyse results and provide recommendations for problem solution.
- Perform laboratory work using equipment such as laboratory reactors, mixers and various analytical equipment.
- Collects and evaluates data.
- Assists other Scientist / or Researchers on projects.
- Works in close co-operation with plant technical managers, technical service, and product development functions
- Evaluate the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances such as raw materials in order to verify the compliance with the established specifications.
- Develop testing protocols, generate data sets for raw material validation.
- Provides process support for new products scale up.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Level of education & Experience in general
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in chemistry (Organic or Polymer Chemistry preferred)
- Ideally one to two-year experience in technical field for polymers or organic synthesis is preferred; experience with high performing resins is an advantage.
Technical skills
- Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English / Finnish
