Role Synopsis

The Inventory Analyst position reports to the “Storehouse Supervisor” and has primary responsibility for ensuring the storehouse inventory is managed to optimal levels.  

Key Accountabilities

Inventory Analyst

  • Reviewing Material Replenishment Plan in SAP for minimum daily stock replenishment requirements and opportunities for third party spend reductions.
  • Manage new stock request system and sets up approved parts in SAP.
  • Maintain material masters, information records and source list in SAP
  • Manage cycle count activities.
  • Tracking and reporting Storehouse inventory performance metrics.
  • Performing obsolete inventory write off activities.
  • Manage the site wide fuel system
  • Optimize Storehouse stock inventory levels and updates the plant’s annual Storehouse Inventory Optimization Plan.
  • Works with Procurement to implement and manage vendor consignment and supplier stocking arrangements.
  • Assists in the disposal of surplus equipment and stores inventory.

Storehouse team support: 

  • Cover for Storehouse Supervisor and SAP Associate during absences.
  • Assist in the Storehouse during peak work periods and turnarounds.
  • Cross train with the Procurement Specialist and Associate to provide backup coverage when needed.

Essential Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Desirable Criteria / Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Cooper River inventory, suppliers, materials specifications and plant equipment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to drive results through others and effectively manage work of others

Physical Demands

  • The ability to routinely work in confined spaces for extended periods of time
  • The ability to routinely climb stairs & ladders that can exceed 200 feet in total span with break decks
  • The ability to lift & carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds in weight.
  • The ability to put on respirators and other important safety equipment
  • Constant (67-100% of time) exerting over 50 pounds of force (lifting, pulling, pushing, torquing), standing, walking, climbing, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, carrying, repetitive motions.
  • Working outside 67-100% of time in temperature extremes and noisy environment

Other Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age; legally authorized to work in the United States; and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., TN, H1B status), now or in the future.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read English.
  • Organization - must be able to effectively juggle competing priorities and handle multiple tasks at once; must be able to organize training and procedure activities
  • Systematic Operation – Must understand/support critical elements to Safety and Operation and understand site procedures and practices to support delivery of the Operations Strategy.
  • Personal Interaction - must be able to work with and through others to achieve results and maintain a positive relationship

  • Leadership - must be able to effectively demonstrate leadership to achieve both short term and long-term objectives
  • Technical knowledge of the units - must be proficient in all phases of unit operation
