The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician will install and maintain low and high voltage systems that communicate with a distributive controls system to manufacture titanium dioxide in an around-the-clock operation at a 130 acre chemical plant. Nature of duties include; Instrument and electrical repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment and buildings, etc. Electronic and pneumatic instrument installation and calibration. Maintains safety, housekeeping and workmanship standards. Performs all other related duties as directed or assigned, including Step Up Planner, mentor apprentices.
Depending on the area in which work is being performed, the I&E Technician will work indoors and/or outdoors where there is exposure to the elements. In some areas there is exposure to vapors, wetness and steam. In other areas some dust and discoloring compounds are encountered.
The successful candidate typically will work Monday through Friday days and be available to work during off hour shifts, weekends and holidays to ensure the facility is operating effectively and safely. The pay rate is $33.23 per hour.
Qualifications:
- You must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years industrial experience in electrical, low and high voltage and instrumentation work in a manufacturing operation or equivalent.
- Prefer experience in a chemical manufacturing Plant.
- Experience in electronic and pneumatic instrument installation and calibration, and wiring of electrical motors and electrical machine controls is required.
- Experience with installation and troubleshooting and repair of existing systems.
- Must be physically fit to perform the essential job functions.
- Expected to work overtime when required.
