The Position
Ensuring rotating and fixed equipment reliability, availability, and overall performance meets production demands. Maintain the plant and equipment at the highest performance level and minimize cost, energy usage, and waste under corporate policies and health and safety regulations.
What You Will Do
- Participate in incident investigations, Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis/LOPA integrity management by completing assigned Preventative Maintenance and ensuring proper follow-through on reliability concerns
- Perform preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, valves, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic tools, and other machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Report progress on assigned PMs.
- Coordinate and direct the activities of contractors of a different craft or experience level.
- Conduct root-cause analysis, dismantling devices properly for repairs or replacement.
- Implement the most effective methods for repairs and minimize downtime.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Utilize basic welding and metal-cutting skills.
- Identify and request parts, supplies, and tools needed for repairs and replenish maintenance inventory.
- Collect equipment performance data, observe trends, and make recommendations.
What You Will Bring
- High School diploma or GED
- 5+ years of mechanical equipment maintenance
- Journeyman experience is preferred
- Completion of college-level Basic Millwright/Machinist program is preferred.
- NCCER Certification as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, Crane & Rigging, or Boilermaker.
- NCCO Crane and NCCO Rigger (or NCCER Rigger)
- SAP (or similar) and Microsoft Office applications
- Scissor lifts, warehouse forklifts, all-terrain forklifts, and JLG
- Confined space.
- You are interpreting pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics, drawings, manuals, and set-up procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, grasp, and reach throughout the shift, including over varying terrain, including ditches, dikes, and catwalks.
- Climb 75' stairs and 200' ladders and enter vessels at various heights through 24" manways
- Wear, fit and use a respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus, earplugs, goggles, safety glasses, radio, and any other safety equipment
- Feel vibrations in pumps, vessels, motors, etc.
- Utilize audio, visual, and olfactory senses to monitor the proper operation of plant equipment
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push 100 lbs., and pull 75 lbs.
The Location
Texas City, TX. Texas City is about 40 miles Southeast of Houston and 10 miles north of Galveston Island. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
