Main job purpose:

The post holder builds and dismantles chemical plant equipment and carries out associated activities to prescribed processes so that production KPIs are met.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Dismantling/stripping and re-building equipment to exacting quality standards and consistency.
  • Installation of equipment as well as general work on the plant.
  • Checking the quality of coatings and pressure testing.
  • Grit blasting, washing, degreasing and other manual tasks.

Key skills & experience required:

  • GCSE equivalent.
  • Able to demonstrate a high commitment to safety, health and environmental standards. 
  • Experience in using hand tools and lifting equipment.
  • Self-managing with a high degree of independence.
  • Team player with a flexible approach; prepared to work longer shifts and weekends to suit production needs.
  • Mechanical skills (desirable).
  • Team leader experience.
  • Physically fit with an excellent attendance record.
  • MUST BE A NON-SMOKER.
