The Role: The Homologation Project Engineer - China provides support to all the company’s homologation and compliance activities, this will include a global reach and support of the engineering development team as the vehicle is designed, taken through concept phase and built. Responsible for identifying and ensuring adherence to required automotive regulatory standards covering all aspects of the vehicles in the assigned Region (China)
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Project Manage, develop, and deliver an effective and efficient Homologation and regulatory process for the assigned Regions meaning:
- Responsible for the Region on all the homologation of all applicable policies, standards, and regulations
- Management of coordinating and advising on changes or notices regarding government regulatory changes
- Provide guidance and information on emission regulations and amendments
- Coordination, implementation and maintenance of compliance data and the creation of homologation documentation for the entry of the target markets
- Support the development and maintenance of internal policies and processes related to the application, implementation, enforcement and audit of all policies, standards and regulations
- Work with external agencies and government regulatory authorities to ensure compliance of products in the respective markets where the products will be sold
- Prepare, review and submit type regulatory approval documents and drawings to applicable regulatory bodies
- Advise, review the Engineering team on current and future legislative matters relating to automotive design, manufacture and functionality for respective markets
- Approve the Engineering designs are according to the GB standards
- Monitor on going adherence of overall vehicle compliance to regulatory requirements
- Report to Engineering Manager non-conforming regulatory issues
- Work as an active member of the Engineering team, ensure effective communication between colleagues and positive contribute to meetings and briefings

For the Homologation Project Engineer - China, we are looking for:
Level of education & Experience in general:
- The incumbent will have significant experience in automotive Homologation / legislation environment with a manufacturing, OEM or first tier 1 supplier
- Have an ability to demonstrate direct knowledge of automotive design and engineering process, from concept to industrialisation
- Have an ability to negotiate with authorities, suppliers, and partners at a technical level.
Technical skills:
- Previous experience in quality engineering, mechanical engineering, regulatory compliance engineering, homologation
- Automotive knowledge gained through design changes, product launches, and legislative updates.
- An understanding of the impact regulatory changes have on design, production and profitability.
- Understanding of business context, market interactions, & business strategy.
Behavioural skills:
- Must be able to build effective working relationships with internal clients and external partners and suppliers
- Have strong problem-solving, Influencing and challenging skills (both for internal & external use)
- Have a solid ability to move from analytical to strategy (bigger picture)
- Able to apply knowledge to critically assess situations
- Must be a good communicator and able to build sustainable relationships internally and externally with multi-disciplinary teams i.e. Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Regulatory bodies.
