The INEOS Nitriles Green Lake Plant located near Victoria, Texas, is a world scale, state of the art chemical complex. The primary product from this site is Acrylonitrile, a chemical intermediate used in the production of acrylic fibers, plastics, and nitrile rubber. Acetonitrile and Hydrogen Cyanide are co-products of the Acrylonitrile production process. Acetonitrile is purified through a proprietary process to produce a very high quality material with little waste generated.
There is a need for an HR / SHE Specialist at the Green Lake Plant in Port Lavaca, Texas located approximately 25 miles south of Victoria. The person in this role will support both the HR and SHE Departments. The primary role for this position is payroll backup. This position will become proficient in the HRIS and conduct thorough audits of time entry. This position will also support the SHE Department by managing the Fire-Retardant Clothing Program. This position reports to the HR Manager and works closely with the Payroll Specialist and SHE Manager.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Adhere to and support the INEOS 20 Principles and INEOS Life Saving Rules. All job activities should be executed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the INEOS 20 Principles and the Culture of Prevention.
- Independently process payroll on a regular frequency
- Apply payroll procedures and practices
- Conduct payroll audits and prepare reports
- Track timecard violations
- Renew vehicle registrations & update PR files
- Order Business cards as needed
- Coordinate Luncheons for community Site Directors meetings
- Manage and update Phone Directory
- Sort mail daily and drop-off out-going mail
- Maintain Admin Evacuation Sheet
- Coordinate Employee Activities and Celebrations
- Coordinate Wellness Activities
- Maintain electronic personnel files
- Provide support as needed for hiring processes
- Manage Off-site Storage files, including tracking of files to be destroyed
- Enter personnel changes in action tracking system.
- Create annual blanket requisitions and other requisitions as needed
- Prepare check requests as needed
- Track annual performance reviews and objectives to ensure completion
- Source vendors, requests quotes and approve artwork for employee recognition gifts.
- Update e-mail groups as needed
- Provide support to HR function as needed
- Manage FRC program

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Associates Degree or higher
- SAP experience is preferred
- Payroll experience is preferred
- Workday experience is preferred
- Previous experience in a focused service orientation role is preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Exerts up to 10-15 lbs of force occasionally, i.e. carry fire extinguisher, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Sedentary work involves mostly sitting. Occasionally walking, standing, sitting, squat may go up 1-3 steps. Employee not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
- Job specific: Balance, stoop/bend, squat, stand, lift, simple grasp, repetitive motion of wrist, hands and fingers.
- Need to evaluate understanding of proper body mechanics for sitting at desk.
