The 300-acre INEOS Battleground Manufacturing Complex (BMC) was originally built in 1956 and is located on the Houston ship channel east of Houston, Texas.  Currently, BMC produces both high-density polyethylene and polypropylene.  The polypropylene line has a capacity of approximately 320 million pounds per year, and the seven polyethylene lines have a combined capacity of approximately 3 billion pounds per year.  The BMC site has a state-of-the-art technical center which integrates research and development, technical services and quality assurance.  

Purpose of the job:

The HR / Payroll / Training Administrative Assistant will work as a key member of the Human Resources Team.  

The HR / Payroll / Training Administrative Assistant will audit/correct site payroll and administer VTA training system.  The successful candidate will be the primary point-of-contact regarding any payroll or VTA related issues at the site, as well as other duties and activities as may be assigned.  This role works very closely with all members of the HR team.  Attention to detail, accuracy and timely execution of assignments coupled with strong analytical and communication skills is essential in this role.

The position reports directly to the HR Manager at the Battleground Manufacturing Complex in La Porte, TX.  This is an entry-level position.

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

  • Serve as site Workday and SchedulePro systems expert
  • Adding, editing payroll data, transactions, deductions for new hires, existing employees
  • Certify accuracy of payroll/benefits related transactions
  • Process and resolve payroll issues
  • VTA system administration
  • Support and troubleshoot VTA system issues and problems
  • Development and management of BMC specific Computer Based Training modules
  • Support various classroom training, including new hire orientation
  • Maintain and update organizational charts and monthly HR reports
  • HR file maintenance and other sensitive/confidential records
  • Prepare bill payments for HR related vendors and benefits
  • Develop Power Point, Excel or Word documents from basic information or data to be used in reports or presentation
  • Issuing approved communications
  • Assists with recruiting activities
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned
  • The position is accountable for understanding and putting into practice the INEOS 20 Principles.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in an Admin support role required
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and/or HR Information Systems (HRIS) preferred
  • Experience with Payroll preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office products - Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Must be flexible and willing to handle a wide variety of responsibilities and take the initiative to manage tasks independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with individuals inside and outside the company
