Global Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Manager

ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT AND JOB PURPOSE
The RPA Manager’s main responsibility is managing and coordinating all RPA activities at INSTY globally with the main goal to reduce effort, i.e. significantly improve process efficiency by maximizing automation through standardization, harmonization and digitalization of processes by using RPA technology.
The RPA Manager is part of the Global Digitalization team and interfaces with various functional depart-ments as well as IT and our external software provider.

ESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Management (30%):

  • Lead RPA Centre of Excellence (CoE), facilitate citizen-led development
  • Coordinate RPA activities from idea generation to implementation
  • Manage the RPA use case pipeline
  • Assess business processes and automation requests based on defined criteria
  • Prepare reports, communicate results, manage risk
  • Coordinate with external RPA software provider UiPath and temporary external support from implementer companies
  • Align with the teams of the Digitalization, IT and functional departments
  • Conduct ideation-sessions with teams new to automation


RPA strategy & development (20%):

  • Design and develop strategies and recommend-dations for UiPath-enabled solutions including key aspects of architecture, migration and security
  • Implement RPA roadmap including project prioritization and delivery
  • Promote RPA within INSTY (marketing / communication) by taking part in meetings, conducting presentations, creating intranet publications

Bot (=software robot) creation (25%):

  • Detail RPA process documentation suitable for implementation
  • Set up use cases, incl. analysis, design, testing and implementation / hand-over into production

Bot operation (15%):

  • Monitor robot performance and errors in the UiPath Orchestrator
  • Carry out bug fixing
  • Help maintain quality and organization of platform code and data
  • Involve further specialists as required (IT and others)

Training & coaching (10%):

  • Conduct training for further RPA experts / CoE members
  • Serve as a sparring partner for CoE members if and when they need help with their use cases

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Education / Experience

  • University degree (Bachelor) in any of the following: information technology, physical sciences, engineering, maths, economics, business administration or similar
  • At least 2 years of experience in RPA technology at every stage of the RPA development lifecycle; UiPath knowledge is a distinct advantage
  • Profound understanding of different RPA operating models
  • Experience in (agile) project management is an advantage (particularly scope, time & cost management)

Technical skills

  • Strong programming skills incl. UiPath Developer certification
  • Knowledge of at least one of the programming tools / languages (e.g. C#, .Net, Visual Basic, Python) is beneficial
  • Understanding of RPA landscape: trends and emerging technologies in the process automation domain and how they can support INSTY
  • Experience leading the configuration, development, testing and deployment of automation solutions
  • Knowledge of Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), other tools and methods to accelerate development
  • Good knowledge of project management (PRINCE2), certification advantageous
  • Experience with agile project delivery methods, tools and concepts
  • Ability to manage and work with vendor partners
  • Good skills in using tools like MS Office, MS Teams and other applications
  • User skills in SAP R/3 helpful

  • Good presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Fluent in English, fluency in local language preferable (German), additional languages advantageous
  • Passionate about continuously improving organizational practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills / cross-cultural understanding
  • Charismatic leadership required to lead colleagues without direct line management responsibility in a complex environment
  • Ability and willingness to work in an intercultural and mostly virtual team
  • Willingness to work and travel in an international environment
