External / internal influencing factors:

  • Product regulations are increasing in number and complexity across the world, particularly in Europe and Asia. We see increasing regulations in all areas, such as food contact, chemical control and classification and labelling legislation with rigorous demands for risk assessment and supporting documentation, with activities on a global as well as on a regional and local basis.
  • Consumer product safety has come into a lot of focus. As a result, interaction with internal and external stakeholders has increased significantly. Our customers expect and require strong and competent regulatory support from us and this has become a key differentiating factor in the marketplace.
  • In addition, we see increasing requirements to support regulatory aspects for the circular economy with major challenges on substance contamination control.
  • INEOS Styrolution has around 3000 grades sold into the market. This provides very high complexity for regulatory issues
  • INEOS Styrolution operates several different production processes leading to high regulatory complexity

Therefore, the position requires the ability to deal with complex requests and fast changing priorities and requires a high level of chemical expertise.
  • Scientific risk assessment, both in-house and working with a range of external experts integrating analytical results from external laboratories along with advanced dedicated modelling, is of great importance to defend our products and to develop new markets
