PTA is a raw material used in the manufacture of polyesters used to make fibers, textiles, film, and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. PX is a feedstock for PTA production. We also produce metaxylene, a feedstock for PX production.

Global CAPEX Manager

Role synopsis:
This Global CAPEX Manager provides governance, management & oversight on the annual aromatics CAPEX budget, investment projects and project portfolios. The position must develop & implement a CAPEX budget approach, a project management assurance framework, and associated work processes to assure that projects and other CAPEX expenditures deliver the intended business value. The position supports company strategy with aligned project investment objectives and annual budget timelines.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Principal Accountabilities:
- Internal factors
- Contribute to develop and implement Company vision and strategy.
- Provides Project Management technical support and advice for Operations Director and other business leaders.
- Interact with leaders at all levels of the organization, while leading the development and mentoring of the next generation of Project Management professionals.
- Advise Operations Director on managing Project Management issues by providing a strong knowledge of technical aspects and an understanding of the challenges faced in a manufacturing environment.
- Work with cross functional site management and site Capex personnel to ensure Capex initiatives are effectively implemented and governed.
- Possess a strong intercultural understanding when adapting Capex programs for global implementation and training of personnel across 7 sites in 5 countries.
- Routine communication with Operations Director about Capex-related matters.
- External factors
- Interaction and collaboration with external engineering companies and project service providers.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Level of Education & Knowledge:
- Relevant engineering degree.
- Preferred knowledge and experience working in management capacity in a CAPEX-related role for a chemical manufacturing business or project engineering company.
Experience in general:
- 15-20 years of progressive experience in Engineering & Project Management related to the Chemical & Refining Industry.
- International experience in major projects is beneficial.
- Experience in Project Portfolio Management is beneficial.
- Must be fluent in English. Other beneficial languages include Dutch and Mandarin.
