Finance SAP Support Analyst

We are looking for a Finance SAP Support Analyst with JVA experience to join our UK team and provide support and solutions to Finance and JVA issues that arise.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Finance SAP Support Analyst will report to the SAP Team Lead

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support via ServiceDesk Plus to the INEOS Energy Finance team for the SAP modules in particular, JVA, WMD, FI/CO and Fixed Assets. Capture and manage business user requirements in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Provide 1st line support to the Finance team for WMD Workflow PO/Invoice release process
  • Design, configure and implement complex SAP Finance solutions for internal users in a timely manner
  • Identify where long-term solutions may not be appropriate (for commercial reasons or otherwise) and design regular workarounds to support the Finance team
  • Provide assurance that core elements of the Finance functional design conform to standards and quality design principles
  • Provide knowledge and support into cross functional integration MM/FICO
  • Take ownership and be the point person for all users for password reset requests, creation and closure of accounts and identifying the correct role assignments in the system
  • Monitor role maintenance ensuring compliance with various audit requirements
  • Participate and actively contribute to annual SAP audits
  • Provide on the job training to internal SAP users ensuring they can properly utilise the system
  • Work closely with SAP Team Lead and wider INEOS SAP team to ensure supportive work practices and service collaboration
  • Conduct unit testing for all potential solutions, to minimise any issues once live

Skills & Knowledge Required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Prior experience of working in a consulting, project, or support SAP role with exposure to finance modules including JVA is essential
  • Experience of working within the Oil & Gas/Energy sector is preferred
  • Some programming skills including writing simple code and the ability to debug ABAP programmes would be preferable

Technical skills

The successful candidate will have experience in all (or most) of the following:

  • Sound understanding of JVA processes necessary to support business requirements
  • Experience of WBS elements and networks
  • WMD Workflow for release of Purchase Orders and invoices
  • Asset Management – GL, AP, and AR
  • Controlling – Cost and profit centres, internal orders, and activity-based costing
  • S/4 HANA – implementation or migration (preferred)
  • Experience of applying OSS notes and Support Pack Stacks (particularly security notes)
  • An understanding of the integration points between SAP and PowerBI

Behavioural skills

  • Motivated self-starter with the confidence to liaise with senior members of the Finance team – Manager, Director and CFO
