The Role: We are looking for a talented Commercial Finance Analyst who will form part of the business controlling team. This role will focus on providing support to the Commercial financial business partnering function and Sales and Distribution areas of the Commercial team specifically. The role requires your hands-on attitude coupled with experience in delivering holistic strategies to thrive in this fast-paced environment.
What will you be doing:
The focus of the role is on supporting the Commercial team, but at the same time remaining independent, pragmatic, and objective to support the wider Finance team objectives. Key accountabilities include:
- Supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partnering function on all financial aspects of developing and delivering the Commercial strategies including:
- Providing crucial assistance in producing and maintaining accurate Commercial business case models, analysing data and making recommendations.
- Identifying requirements and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Assisting with the production of the monthly Commercial forecast and annual budget, including:
- monthly actual vs forecast analysis
- the development and production of monthly cost reports
- Purchase order reconciliations
- the extraction of data from SAP and other ad hoc tasks.
- Supporting Senior BP in:
- Analysis of Regional Financial Strategy, incl. sales channels, product, and customer mix
- Completing the due diligence reviews of potential commercial partners prior to nomination, including analysis of the financial results and business plans for new markets
- Regional/National Sales incentive calculations (sales commissions
- Maintaining the Commercial & regionals Business Case, strategic business models and ad-hoc analysis.
- Support Senior FBP and the Sales & distribution team in delivering & implementing the cost of retail strategy
- Support Senior FBP and the Sales & distribution team in delivering & implementing the used car model
- Support of the Central Sales Management Team
- Production of Commercial Budget Dashboards and KPI reports
- Supporting the FP&A and Business Partnering functions as required
What you will bring:
- Studying towards an Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or relevant degree desired but not required.
- Experienced Finance Analyst or similar. Key skills include experience in building/maintaining complex financial models and clear presentation of financial data, especially to non-financial individuals.
- Strong Excel skills including the use of pivot tables and advanced formulae.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Commercial awareness, a positive attitude and “can-do” approach, comfortable to challenge at all levels.
- Ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to quickly master complex requirements.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long term professional relationships at all levels.
- Ability to think on your feet and adjust to an ever-changing landscape and to think outside the box and suggest novel solutions to problems
