  1. SHE 40%
  • Promote and comply with the “INEOS Life Saving Rules” and the “20 INEOS SHE Principles”.
  • Supports to achieve the SHE goals of the site and the company by actively participation in the continuous improvement of safety and brings in own ideas and improvement proposals.
  • Promote and participate in SHE programs and SHE initiatives (observations, field checks, quality management tours, asset care tours, …).
  • Informing/notifying/implementing and motivating safety-relevant themes (5 min security before shift start, SHE-Alerts, TOFS sessions (time out for safety), LMRA (last minute risk assessment) stopping work or unsafe situations…). Adhere to these themes.
  • Performing or supporting incident analyses.
  • Perform or support task risk analyses. Implement and follow-up of actions from task risk analyses.
  • Lead site operators on implementing the instruction from DCS as well as ensure field is at a good condition.

  1. Operational activities 40%
  • Coordinates the operational and maintenance activities in the field
  • Reports to the shift leader  about daily activities in the field,  production disruptions, incidents and product quality issues
  • Steers and supports the SAN, Rubber, Precipitation & Sintering and extrusion field workers in emergency response, troubleshooting, preparation of maintenance and inspection activities, start/stop/cleaning activities and plant trials.
  • Supports the operators in the control room in process control and monitoring.
  • Carries out a daily inspection tour in the plant.
  • Takes care with the field operators for a proper housekeeping of the installation
  • Supports the shift leader in the preparation of the permits to work
  • Ensures and sets the example that  the actual versions of the SOP’s, ERP’s, non-routine tasks and start/stop procedures are available and followed by the field workers
  • Monitors the safety systems and devices in the field such as emergency showers and eye washers, gas/LEL monitoring (air and water), smoke – and fire detectors,…

  1. Management of shift team 20%
  • backup the shift leader in his absence.
  • Supports the shift leader in planning of the shift staffing and training of the employees.
  • Encourages and motivates the team workers in achieving the plant targets and KPI’s
  • Taking care of the safety-oriented introduction of new employees together with training coordinator
  • Support the shift leader to follow up the internal and external training obligations of his team together with training coordinator
  • Supports the shift leader in a smooth handover to the next shift by preparing the shift report about the field activities. Joins the shift leader during the shift handover to inform the next shift leader about the major topics related to SHE, production, ongoing maintenance jobs and product quality in the field.

Level of education & Knowledge[FH1]:

  • Bachelor degree in chemical engineering with at a minimum 8 years’ experience in the chemical process industry.

Experience in general:

  • At least 5 years of experience in DCS Operating Position at a (petro)chemical company.
  • You have a good technical insight
  • You like to take responsibility and ownership in this function
  • You are ambitious to further develop in a leadership role (e.g. shift leader, day supervisor)
  • You remain in control, maintain an overview and react alertly in stressful situations and conflicts.
  • You have a strong analytical mind, which allows you to quickly gain insight and offers solutions to problems.
  • You have organizational talent and you can delegate
  • You are a team-oriented, enthusiastic colleague who enjoys his / her skills share process knowledge with others. You support collaboration within the ABS plant or with other teams on the KAIMEN site
  • Smooth (written and oral) communication is for you naturally.
  • Together with the shift leader you fulfill an exemplary function with regard to implementation and compliance with the principles of occupational and process safety and takes this level the right initiatives and decisions.

Technical skills:

  • ABS process knowledge or relevant polymerization process beneficial
  • Capable on reading and understanding technical drawings, developing of safety related instructions
  • Good command of risk management and prevention.
  • Solid grasp of health and safety rules.
  • Learn the Group’s production methods and general plant operation
  • Become proficient in procedures through in-house training
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with diverse groups.
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand and follow complex work procedures.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
