INEOS Hull Site is the European manufacturing facility for the Acetyls Business Unit and is of significant strategic importance to the Global Business, with a focus on Manufacturing Petrochemicals as well as Research & Technology. Our core product range is Acetic Acid and Acetic-Anhydride.
About the opportunity
The Feedstock & Marine Operator is responsible for the execution of the methanol delivery plan to the Hull Acetyls plants and for all the marine related activities to support the INEOS Acetyls European commercial team.
The role requires the interaction with contracted and spot methanol suppliers to plan, nominate and operationally execute marine deliveries and requires interaction with the Acetyls Product Managers to support all the Marine activities for Acetic Acid, Acetic Anhydride and Ethyl Acetate
About you
You must understand the contract structure with methanol suppliers, including specific nomination requirements.
You will have a knowledge of shipping logistics, including vetting and port clearance requirements and an appreciation of the factors that can result in short notice changes to the delivery schedule, not least plant reliability.
You must understand supply and demand balances influencing remote storage locations.

Planning
Support and advise in developing the annual Methanol delivery plan by providing input on contracted volumes, delivery lead times and any operational constraints.
Produce a detailed quarterly plan, based on the framework of the annual plan, for approval by the Product Manager that is used as an “indication” to Methanol suppliers and sets the basis for monthly nominations to suppliers.
Circa 6 weeks prior to delivery, or as required by the specific Methanol contract, issue a non-binding forecast to suppliers.
Nomination
On the first of the month prior to delivery (or as required by the specific Methanol contract) issue a binding nomination to suppliers.
Agree delivery windows with suppliers, ensuring jetty availability is confirmed.
Delivery Management
Feedstock activities
Receive proposed vessel for DAP / CFR delivery from suppliers and execute port clearance and vetting via IMAS.
Coordinate delivery windows, to ensure jetty deconfliction once firm arrival windows are provided by supplier.
Liaise with shipping agent to ensure that all import administrative regulations are promptly completed.
React, replan and liaise with 3rd parties in the event of operational upsets such as weather delay, material specification issues or plant outage.
Execute spot deliveries as directed by the product manager, covering the activities in this section but with particular attention to deconflicting with contracted deliveries.
Process deliveries in SAP to ensure stock levels are up to date.
Minimise demurrage costs through robust planning. Responsible for challenging demurrage claims and collating for input into DOA.
Ensure that Methanol stocks are adequately managed: avoid stocks out and tank top positions.
