The O&P USA business includes the product lines Ethylene, Propylene, Butadiene, Polypropylene and Polyethylene. Manufacturing sites include Chocolate Bayou Works (Alvin, TX), Battleground Manufacturing Complex (LaPorte, TX), and Carson (Carson, CA), with the headquarters located in League City, TX.
How the Role Fits In:
The Feedstock Supply Manager reports to the Team Lead NGL Feedstocks and is the primary face-to-market for negotiation of feedstock supply agreements for the INEOS Chocolate Bayou ethylene manufacturing complex (CBW), one of the largest ethylene crackers in the US, and commercial management of the INEOS Hobbs fractionation business.
The Main Purpose of the Role:
The role has commercial responsibility for feedstock supply to CBW and the Hobbs fractionator, marketing of purity products produced by the Hobbs fractionator and management of physical inventories. In addition, the role is responsible for monitoring and hedging commodity price exposure. In the course of supplying the assets and executing supply strategies, the role routinely manages deal flow of approximately USD$175mm per month and interacts with approximately 10 – 15 supply partners.
Responsibilities AND Accountabilities
Accountability 1: Negotiation of supply and offtake agreements and commercial optimization of logistical assets.
- Serve as face-to-market for supply agreement negotiation and contract administration.
- Minimize feedstock supply and logistical costs.
- Maximize product sales value through short-term and long-term sales agreements.
- Commercially optimize owned/leased storage and transportation assets.
- Work closely with asset team to optimize olefins and fractionation earnings.
- Develop and maintain earnings budgets and provide monthly variance analysis of actuals versus budget.
Accountability 2: Physical supply of feedstocks to INEOS’ Chocolate Bayou olefins manufacturing complex and Hobbs fractionator.
- Develop monthly supply plans and serve as face-to-market for third party pipeline transportation agreements.
- Supervise daily pipeline movements and plan month-end inventory levels to ensure adequate supply to assets.
- Communicate plan updates to appropriate scheduling, operations, and commercial groups.
- Adjust supply plans in response to unplanned outages and emergencies. Work closely with internal and external groups to minimize business interruption.
Accountability 3: Manage physical inventory levels, commodity price risk exposure and working capital usage within approved limits.
- Maintain forward looking inventory forecasts and coordinate buying/selling of inventory to ensure compliance with physical inventory limits.
- Quantify intra-day commodity price risk exposure and coordinate hedging to ensure compliance with price risk exposure limits.
- Ensure compliance with authorized working capital limits by actively managing inventory levels and credit terms with suppliers.
Skills & Knowledge Required
Education/Experience
- 5+ years of experience in operations, trading and/or commercial management.
- Engineering or Business degree or equivalent.
