Waste Management Officer

Main role purpose:

The post holder is responsible for defining and confirming the choice of waste disposal routes and coordinating the movement of all waste produced on Runcorn and Northwich sites in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner such that all regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Provide a waste service for INOVYN and third-party operators on Runcorn Site.
  • Obtain and evaluate options for the disposal of waste; check and confirm legal compliance.
  • Liaise with waste disposal operators to ensure waste is removed and disposed of in accordance with safe working practices.
  • Manage the documentation, including the provision of all Hazardous Waste Consignment & Duty of Care documentation.
  • Produce electronic data and accurately file records to support efficient cost transfers and completion of regulatory monthly and annual Environment Agency waste returns.

Key skills & experience:

  • Good understanding of waste management legislation.
  • Competent understanding of most aspects of SAPR3.
  • Competent and confident with IT applications including all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • High concern for standards.
