The Position:
As a member of the SHEQ Team, reporting to the SHEQ Manger, this position will act as a resource to manage environmental programs and for day-to-day site environmental activities.
What you will do:
- Lead, and provide support for incident investigations at the site, specifically relating to the environment;
- Provide support for environmental regulatory reporting requirements at the site;
- Update and maintain environmental procedures and programs associated with the Site’s SHEQ Management Systems;
- Complete environmental reviews for all new substances brought onsite, as required by federal legislation;
- Liaise with federal, provincial and municipal authorities pertaining to environmental issues (i.e. agreements, reports, audits, etc.), as required;
- Provide project support for environmental related activities;
- Provide support to INEOS Styrolution on corporate initiatives and activities, as required;
- Report environmental incidents to the applicable authorities, as required;
- Provide support for requests from regulatory agencies, public, etc. (i.e. Freedom of Information requests, surveys, etc.);
What you will bring:
- BSc in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field, or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in the environment field;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment;
- Familiar with environmental regulations for an industrial chemical processing facility would be an asset;
- Industrial work experience is an asset
- Ability to lead / provide direction to multiple disciplines within the organization
- Problem solving skills / ability to drive improvement
- Effectively communicates with different levels of customer’s organizations
Physical demands: Must be physically able to work in a manufacturing plant and administrative office capacity.
The Location: This opportunity is located in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, only 60 minutes from London, Ontario, Canada
