Energy Specialist (F/M)
Major tasks &responsibilities:
The Energy & Environmental Manager will be responsible for:
Energy Regulatory:
- Coordinate energy study and obligations linked with the Flemish Covenant Energy Benchmarking
- Observe the commitments within the Emission Trading System (CO2-rights)
- Actively follow up Flemish and Belgian initiatives/plans on energy legislation
- Actively participate in the Energy workgroup of Essenscia
Energy and environment management systems :
- Implement an energy management system (for example ISO 50001)
- Maintain the ISO 14001 management system
Energy Performance :
- Follow up of the energy legislation, permits and legal/administrative files
- Systematically follow up the energy efficiency and performance (including compliance)
- Initiate and follow up improvement initiatives in the area of energy efficiency (collaborate with the external environment coordinator), in close coorperation with the plants
- Review projects and/or process modifications from an energy point of view
- Prepare and supervise the energy audits and inspections
- Lead the Styrolution Belgium Energy Workgroup
- Contact authorities, develop network within Flanders/Belgium
- Represent Antwerp in the global/EMEA network for EHS and energy
Profile requirements:
- Bio Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Civil Engineer, Bachelor Chemistry
- At least 5-10 years of experience in energy management within the chemical industry and Seveso companies
- Experience with ETS and benchmark agreement
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
- Experience in international organisations is a plus
- Thorough knowledge of environment and energy legislation
- Experience/certification with implementation of the environment audit
- Sense for initiative, flexibility and entrepeneurship
- Communication with several levels of the organisation and negotiate smoothly with authorities
