Main role purpose:
The post holder is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Electrical Power Distribution and Rectification Assets in accordance with the HV Safety Rules and as defined in the Rectifier and Electrical Distribution Maintenance Strategies. This includes work for third parties under SLA agreements.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Maintain HV and LV Switchgear on the Electrical Distribution System.
- Implement work within the requirements of the HV Safety Rules and or SAF04 isolation controls.
- Operate the High Voltage Distribution System and provide a response to alarms.
- Test and maintain ancillary equipment including protection relays, batteries, lighting and heating.
- Maintain Earthing Systems.
Key skills & experience:
- Power Distribution Transformers.
- High power Rectifier Transformers.
- Air/ Vacuum/ SF6 / Bulk Oil Filled Switchgear.
- DC Battery Systems.
- Current and Voltage Transformers.
- CO2 Deluge Systems and Fire Systems.
- Overcurrent and Earth Fault Protection relays.
- Unit Protection Systems.
- Generator and Motor Protection Systems.
- HV Cable terminations.
