ECU SHIFT MANAGER

Runcorn MCP is a 50/50 Joint Venture between INOVYN and VYNOVA that operates a state-of-the-art membrane electrolysis plant at Runcorn, Cheshire, for the conversion of brine solution (common salt dissolved in water) into chlorine.

This is a direct Company recruitment.  We will not accept applications via employment agencies.

The post holder is responsible for managing and developing the plants, people and management processes across the ECU assets so that resources are fully optimised to ensure continuous operation in line with KPIs for SHE, output, efficiency and costs.

Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and control the routine and non-routine operation of the plants within ECU to achieve production plans and KPIs in line with budgeted targets.
  • Provide SHE leadership across the area and respond to all emergency situations on ECU plants to maintain the safety and security of personnel, the protection of the environment and the security of the assets.
  • Ensure that all the shift production personnel are fully trained and validated in their respective areas.
  • Manage routine and non-routine maintenance work activities outside normal day working hours, providing leadership and direction.
  • Manage expenditure across the operating teams.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 (management diploma).
  • A thorough understanding of chlor-alkali technology and the operation of high hazard COMAH registered plants.
  • In depth knowledge and full awareness of the SHE management processes and their specific application across ECU assets.
  • Full knowledge of the Basis of Safety for key plants.
  • Good understanding of problem solving/root cause analysis methodology.
  • Proven experience in a 'front line' supervisory or management role on COMAH registered plants or extensive experience in a supervisory or management role of high hazard chemical installations.
  • High concern for standards and able to make critical SHE and production decisions.
  • Skilled communicator with concern for impact.
