FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth

job purpose

Reporting to the Offshore or Onshore Installation manager, the post holder will:-

  • Participate as part of an integrated operations team to execute operations support, general asset maintenance works, and associated activities, including lifting, helicopter and materials handling, in a safe, timely and quality manner.
  • Responsible for asset material ordering, handling, storage and inventory control.
  • Directly controls all activities on the deck.
  • Acts as helicopter landing officer.
  • Acts as Platform RPS.

principle accountabilities

  • Organise and oversee day-to-day general deck duties.
  • Helicopter/Helideck operations, passenger control, air freight, baggage management and emergency response including regular training of helideck team through emergency exercises.
  • Waste Management (Segregation, Transportation and Disposal).
  • Aviation/Marine Radio Communications.
  • Direct discharging and back loading of marine vessels including manifesting requirements.
  • Ordering, Receipt and Distribution of platform materials.
  • Conduct regular stock checks of materials/consumables. Responsible to order stock to maintain critical materials and consumables.
  • Support offshore operations as OPITO Rigger Competence Assessment (Stage 3).
  • Food and Dry Goods stores support to the Unity Steward.
  • Cargo (manifesting, goods receipt, goods shipping and diesel, water stocks).
  • Platform RPS (Radiation Protection Supervisor).
  • Replacement and Inspection of Bulk Diesel Loading Hose.
  • Diesel fuel bunkering from assigned supply vessel.
  • Maintain the proper condition of tools and test equipment.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment and materials for work execution are available and in required condition.
  • Ensure all required stocks of Personal Protection Equipment is available.
  • Oversee planned asset housekeeping duties, applying corrective actions as required including backloading of surplus materials and materials and equipment for repair/return onshore.
  • Management of the Temporary Equipment Register.
  • Site Gas Cylinder Coordinator.
  • Ensure that all handling of Hazardous Materials in undertaken in accordance with regulations and safe working practices.
  • Manage Hazardous Materials Pig Waste/NORM and backload.
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances are fully reported.
  • Actively participate in Asset Safety Culture; attend and contribute to safety meetings, partake in Company SHE initiatives and activities.
  • Inspection of helideck fire fighting equipment.
  • Properly document and accurately report all relevant data including Vantage, Synergi and Maximo.
  • Undertake training as offered by the company to expand his or her area of competency.
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to Health, safety and the Environment.

qualifications and technical experience

Appropriate professional/trade qualifications

  • Current BOSIET/FOET or equivalent
  • Formal Trade qualifications, or NQV or similar
  • OPITO HLO Certificate
  • OPITO Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL)
  • CAA Offshore Radio Operators Certificate of Competence
  • RYA Short Range Certificate (VHF)
  • OPITO Banksman & Slinger Competence Assessment (Stage 3)
  • OPITO Rigger Competence Assessment (Stage 3).
  • OPITO Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader (OERTL)
  • Rigging Loft Management.
  • Emergency Crane Operator.
  • Dangerous Goods by Sea (IMDG)
  • Dangerous Goods by Air (IATA)
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS).

Minimum Experience:

  • 2 years’ relevant experience

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Be familiar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to deploy operational standards, policies and procedures to meet both regulatory and safety standards
  • Ability to undertake work to meet acceptance criteria with respect to safety, health and hygiene.
  • Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.  Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion.
  • Ability to co-ordinate daily routines covering both the technical and administrative roles through the use of company systems and IT.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems such as Maximo, Vantage and Synergi.
  • Complete detailed end of trip handover.
