  • The day foreman and his team of 3rd party contractors support the ABS production and AA&Utilities teams in SHE related tasks and operational activities.

B. Environment/Context/Complexity of the job: Describe the most important internal and external factors influencing the job

Internal factors:

  • Coordination with all ABS production team members such as production manager,production day supervisors, shiftleaders and operators
  • Coordination with AA & Utilities production team
  • Coordinate with 3rd party contractor

External factors:

  • Coordination with other on-site stakeholders such as SHE department, logistics, maintenance

C. Responsibilities/ Accountabilities of the job: Describe the main results expected from the job, sum up to 100%

  1. SHE 40%
  • Promote and adhere to the “INEOS Life Saving Rules” and the “20 INEOS SHE Principles”.
  • Support to achieve the SHE objectives of the site and the company - actively participate in the continuous improvement of safety, bring in own ideas / improvement proposals.
  • Promote and participate in SHE programs and SHE initiatives (observations, field checks, quality management and asset care tours, ...).
  • Participation at safety-relevant themes (5 min safety before the start of the shift, SHE-Alerts, TOFS sessions (time out for safety), LMRA (last minute risk assessment), stopping work or unsafe situations, ...).
  • Perform or support incident analyses. Implementing and following up actions from incident analyses.
  • Performing or supporting task risk analyses. Implement and follow up on actions from task risk analyses.
  • Preparation of SOP’s and safety related instructions and procedures. Follow these instructions and ensure 3rd party contractor is educated in these and follows accordingly
  • Order, supply, stock management and maintenance,… of SHE equipment, consumables and materials (e.g. fire extinguishers, PPE’s, hoses and flexibels for utility stations, breathing air filters,…
  • General operational support (e.g. maintenance of Walkie Talkies, asset care, collecting samples,….)

  • Unloading trucks with bulk raw materials (Aquanox, TDM, EB, ethylacrylate)
  • Transfer raw materials from chemical warehouse to production units (Sodium Persulfate, Potassium Stearate, Magnesium Sulfate, Wax, Sodium Bicarbonate, K30, MAA)
  • Loading trucks with AA for Ulsan
  • Waste management (transfer of waste from production units to waste storage area such as  coagulate, sweepings and lumps, drums with contaminated absorbants,….)
  1. Management of 3rd party contractor 15 %
  • Organizes the 3rd party contractor to ensure that the SHE related tasks and operational activities are performed safe and according to plan
  • Takes care of the safety-oriented introduction of 3rd party contractor and mandatory safety trainings
  • Encourages the contractor to actively participate at the SHE programs and SHE initiatives

F. Required profile:

Level of education & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or Equivalent with at a minimum 8 years’ experience in the chemical process industry.

Experience in general:

  • At least 3 years of experience in managing 3rd party contractor  at a (petro)chemical company
  • You have organizational talent and you can delegate.
  • Technical insight and affinity are obvious to you.
  • You have a critical, curious look and you have a nose for it learning opportunities.
  • We ask for a good portion of a sense of responsibility and safety awareness. You work in a chemical environment after all!
  • You have a healthy dose of ambition and drive to learn. After all, developing and learning never stops in this job.
  • You have a technical diploma at secondary level, in the direction of chemistry, (electro)mechanics or similar.
  • Motivation and eagerness to learn are all the more important
  • You have a strong analytical mindset, which allows you to quickly gain insight and offers solutions to problems.
  • You are a team-oriented, enthusiastic colleague who enjoys his / her skills share process knowledge with others. You stimulate cooperation within the team and other site functions such as maintenance, E&I, QM …
  • Smooth (written and oral) communication is for you naturally.
  • You set an example with regards to implementation and compliance with the principles of occupational and process safety and takes the right one in this area initiatives and decisions.

Technical skills:

  • Chemical production knowledge beneficial
  • Good command of risk management and prevention.
  • Solid grasp of health and safety rules.
  • Become proficient in procedures through in-house training
  • Well experienced/knowledgeable of the LOTO process beneficial
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand and follow complex work procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to occasionally (30-60%) stand, ascend and descend stairs, turn valve/wrench handles, stoop, ascend and descend caged ladders, bend, kneel/crouch/crawl, reach above shoulder height, tolerate repetitive motion and utilize fine motor dexterity and reach at/below shoulder height.
  • Must be able to frequently (70-100%) sit and walk.
  • Must be able to infrequently (10-20%) twist.
  • Normal day working hours
  • Must be able to work inside 70% of the time and work outside 30% of the time.
  • Must work alone 80% of the time and work with others 20% of the time.
  • Must be able to occasionally work in extreme cold or heat and around high noise levels over 85 Db.

  • Must be able to infrequently work with vibratory tools, do confined space entry, operate vehicles, and work with automated machinery.
  • Must be able to wear steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, long sleeves, hearing protection, fall protection and other PPEs as warranted.
  • Must be able to frequently work at a moderate pace.
  • Must be able to occasionally work closely with co-workers, rely on the assistance of others to accomplish daily tasks and at a rapid pace.
  • Must be able to lift infrequently (pushing & pulling effort while stationary) max 25kg.
  • Must be able to carry infrequently (pushing & pulling effort while walking) max 25kg.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain INEOS Forklift Driving Certification.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain Governmental required training for safety personal and process polymerization as required
  • Must be able to complete and maintain INEOS process training for on-boarding
  • Must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens and to adjust focus.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound. Must perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction.
  • This position is considered a “safety critical job”, which requires continuous study (SOP’s, Training Manuals, procedural updates), for the employee to be always alert, able to concentrate on their task at hand, and not impaired by medications (prescription, non-prescription, illegal or legal substances including alcohol), or any other mental condition which adversely affects alertness, concentration, or judgment.
