Consolidation Analyst

INEOS Oil & Gas ("IOG") is a fully integrated exploration and production company with assets in the UK, Denmark and Norway. We are currently recruiting for a Consolidation Analyst to be responsible for monthly and ad hoc management reporting, treasury management/ reporting; and cost control at IOG Group level.

Reporting directly into the IOG FP&A Manager the successful candidate will assist with the delivery of accounting, consolidation, controlling, budgeting and other financing activities at IOG Group level.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities


  • Prepare and issue weekly price and month end assumptions to the IOG Group
  • Prepare a weekly consolidated 13-week cash flow forecast to incorporate other Oil and Gas regions and prepare a management presentation for Board approval
  • Collect, review & challenge the regional Oil and Gas business monthly financial results, prepare variance analysis for discussion with the segments finance heads
  • Consolidate month end results and forecasts for IOG Group, prepare monthly and ad-hoc management reporting and variance analysis for presentation to IOG Board
  • Prepare and distribute the annual budget assumptions to the IOG Group
  • Consolidate regional budgets for IOG Group, review and challenge with the regional finance heads
  • Manage the consolidation of the annual budget process for the IOG group, prepare the pack for Board presentation and complete the templates for Group submission
  • Coordinate the collection of ad-hoc data requests for Group and prepare consolidated submissions.

Treasury / Insurance

  • Review the current and forward curve hydrocarbon prices to ensure sufficient LOPI insurance coverage.
  • Assist with the collection and consolidation of the data in the insurance renewal process
  • Manage routine requests for drawing under the RBL Facility (on a 1, 3 or 6 monthly basis)
  • Manage interaction with asset managers and HSBC on issuing, maintaining and updating LCs
  • Review interest and fee invoices and check calculations are correct as per Facility terms
  • Work alongside Scandinavian finance team to identify and propose forward foreign currency requirements.  Liaise with pool of banks to obtain quotes and execute following approval by Treasury Director or CFO.
  • Support periodic commodity hedge execution.
  • Provide general support to Treasury Director on managing hedge book (commodity and FX) including maintenance of database, routine and periodic reporting, and monitoring of hedge policy compliance.
  • Prepare the annual treasury budget submission for consolidation

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
  • Full or part qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • A deep understanding of financial reporting requirements and complex Borrowing Facility financial obligations
  • Ability to use modelling tools and present outcomes simply and concisely
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Highly numerate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Analytical
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
