Concept Architect / Designer
Job Description
We are searching for an experienced architect / designer to work in conjunction with our Design Director on a number of architectural and engineering projects. As part of this role you will interpret the design directors briefs, develop ideas, and help manage external architectural consultants. You should have strong leadership skills, an extensive portfolio of concept design work, good project management skills and the ability to handle feedback.
Job Responsibilities:
- Creating conceptual designs for architectural and engineering projects.
- Researching and maintaining knowledge of various engineering disciplines, application methods, and materials.
- Monitoring the work of external Architects and making recommendations or scheduling workshops as required.
- Providing guidance to subcontractors like builders, plumbers, and electricians, and helping them interpret design specifications.
- Liaising with the design director to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that project requirements are met.
- Ensuring the internal and external teams works together to achieve set goals and targets.
- Networking and consulting with various industry professionals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or transport design, engineering, design, or similar.
- A good portfolio and several years of work experience as a Concept Architect / Designer
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Brilliant interpersonal and networking skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly analytical.
- Deadline-driven and dedicated to excellence.
- Based in Lyndhurst but willing to travel to London, France, Iceland and other project locations.
Experience in:
- AutoCad
- Photoshop, good understanding (Quick fixes / edits / most visuals still require a good amount of post process)
- Rhino, for the yacht world / more technical but worth understanding.
- 3dsmax and vray for quick modelling and rendering
