Main role purpose:
The post holder is responsible for the short and long-term planning of the UK projects portfolio. In leading the interface between global INOVYN CapEx Controlling and the UK Projects Group, the post holder develops and implements improved internal project and contract control procedures and external provision of these services that support robust, accurate, and measurable business level CapEx planning and forecasting.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Lead the primary link with central CapEx Controlling by proactively ensuring all UK project managers are responding in a timely manner to the business planning and forecasting requirements including forecast sanction dates.
- Lead the development and implementation of techniques and procedures that will effectively manage the interface between the UK Projects Group project managers and the global INOVYN CapEx controlling team.
- Manage the UK project portfolio reporting procedures, ensuring the UK leadership team and CapEx Controlling are accurately briefed on project portfolio progress against baselines set by INOVYN.
- Lead the development and implementation of project control arrangements and procedures for INOVYN UK that safeguard project delivery to the timescales and budgets set with the INOVYN Executive at the pre and full-sanction stage gates.
- Based on the contract strategy set by the INOVYN Procurement and Project teams, manage the implementation of robust contract commercial management and quantity surveyor arrangements for large CapEx contracts guaranteeing ‘discovered value’.
- Lead the implementation of cost-estimating arrangements and procedures for INOVYN UK projects, including the gathering of achieved cost information upon project completion.
Key skills & experience:
- Degree qualified in an engineering discipline or equivalent with relevant in-role experience.
- Strong preference for project control, reporting and planning within a process industry environment.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in project strategy, planning, reporting, cost estimating, and commercial management.
- Experience in at least two full project life cycles, from setting business requirements to beneficial operation gained on projects each with a total installed cost of >£5m.
- First-hand experience in forensic planning and project portfolio reporting.
- A team player with strong leadership skills.
- A conceptual thinker, able to strategically influence and effectively communicate across all levels.
