Main role purpose:
The post holder is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and ongoing management of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and their related systems.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Define, develop and implement a BI reporting strategy in line with business needs and wider IT improvement plans.
- Provide technical leadership and deliver the required infrastructure and tools to facilitate data and analytics being at the centre of business decision-making.
- Establish, lead and implement project portfolio management processes to deliver robust project execution and maintain BI governance
- Manage a technical team, ensuring that technical skills, competencies, and experience match the current and future needs to support BI infrastructure and strategy.
- Manage the relationships with third-party suppliers involved in the delivery of BI improvement plans/projects.
Key skills & experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience in data warehouse analysis and design, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data architecture, relational databases, SQL scripting, JSON, PowerShell, and modeling tools.
- Excellent working knowledge of Qlik (e.g. Qlikview, QlikSense, and QDI) and demonstrable ability with ETL tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, O365 & Power BI.
- Experience in SAP and its table structures.
- Good understanding of data privacy requirements, cyber security best practices, and change control frameworks.
- Project management and practical change management experience with BI projects.
- Able to translate to and from technology language and business language to analyse user requirements and build front-end BI applications.
- Flexible approach to support out-of-hours requirements.
