Business Development Manager Automotive EMEA  (F/M)

Organisation context and job purpose

  • Driving the business development of Styrolution at defined Automotive OEMs in Europe mainly in France and Germany, through promotion, new application development, technical support and project management.

  • You will be working in close contact with the head of Automotive Sales, with product management, RDC, R&D, and Sales (KAM, TAM) to promote product solutions, to develop new applications and acquire new projects defined in the automotive strategy.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Develop a strong network at OEMs for key applications

  • Promote material solutions in applications to leverage our growth targets

  • Develop a high technical expertise on key applications

The BDM will be accountable to capture new business opportunities, manage a list of projects up to commercial launch. Target closure in terms of CM1 and volume will be the key measurements. The amount of quality targets that are generated and closed will be the key success factors in this position.

Skills & Knowledge required

Education/Experience

  • Preferred Bachelor of mechanical or chemical Engineering, plastic material, with application development competencies in the Automotive sector.

  • Familiar with the marketing and selling of engineering plastics.

  • Familiar with automotive OEMs and Tier 1s.

  • Five or more years directly related work experience in technical support, Application development, or new business Development.

  • Technical experience in technical application development, processing technology.

  • Knowledge of OEM material approval processes and test methodology.

Skills/Competencies

  • Above average computer skills with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Teamwork, business acumen, self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit and persuasiveness, creative and result oriented, customer focus, project management

  • Very good language skills both written and verbal in French, English, and German

Line Management Responsibility

  • No direct or indirect report.

  • Reports to the Sales Director Automotive Styrenic Specialties EMEA
