The Position: Business Development Manager, Automotive -The candidate will drive the long term business development of INEOS Styrolution in the Automotive industry, concentrating on Battery Electric/Autonomous Vehicles and the Lighting Segment, through business development, application innovation, pipeline growth, network/relationship building, and development of new customers.

Requirements:

  • Level of education & Knowledge:
    • Bachelor degree in technical or business field (ex. Marketing/Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or Polymers)
    • Master’s in Business Administration is preferred
    • Experience in general: Minimum 10 years directly related work experience in Sales, Marketing, or Market Development within the Automotive sector, preferably with resin manufacturers and/or Tier 1 part producers.
  • Technical skills:
    • High level of spoken and written English
    • Familiar with the marketing and selling of plastics in the automotive marketplace.
    • Technical experience in mold filling analysis, part specifications and approvals, and processing technology.
    • Familiarity with Automotive Interior Systems and market leading Tier 1 suppliers.
    • Knowledge of OEM material approval processes and test methodology.
    • Knowledge of Tier 1 Plastic Part Approval Process (PPAP).
    • Ability to travel frequently via auto or air across North America and intercontinentally as required
  • Skills/Competencies
    • Strong interpersonal skills.  Must be able to successfully interface with internal and external personnel from various functions and management levels.
    • Proven negotiation and communication skills
    • Time management.  Must be able to self-manage work load and job scope and that of others.
    • Above average computer skills with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask
    • Excellent team worker
    • Ability to think and act entrepreneurially. 

Responsibilities:

Candidate must be extremely team oriented as he/she will be working with Business and Product management, R&D, and Sales, as well as global colleagues to gain new business in the Automotive Interiors market for INEOS Styrolution.  The main responsibility of the employee will be calling on Automotive OEM’s & Tier 1s who primarily manufacture Battery Electric/Autonomous Vehicles and automotive lighting components.  Employee should have thorough knowledge of OEM material approval processes and Tier 1 decision making processes.

Key results will be in Target Generation, both in terms of CM1 and volume.  Following generation, target closure, in terms of CM1 and volume will be measured. The amount of quality targets that are generated and closed will be the key success factors in this position. Area of concentration will be on ASA & ABS for Battery Electric/Autonomous Vehicles components and lighting applications.
