A. Purpose /Role of the job: Describe in 1 phrase what contribution the job is expected to make to the organisation’s objectives

Review, analyse and report on the business development in India so that management can make well informed and prompt decisions to achieve its goals, develop its strategy and determine its plans. Work closely with all function heads and facilitate improvements in daily work and prepare the annual budget.

B. Environment/Context/Complexity of the job: Describe the most important internal and external factors influencing the job

Internal: Important factor is a strong partnership with cross function teams within India organization. This enhances the quality of controlling reports, analyses and executive summaries, financial results as per local and group reporting and ensures compliance to corporate and group policies. Complexity arises from determining cost and profitability for the ABS / SAN / PS product portfolio manufactured in a multi step multi site process and costed in India and the scope of customers.   

External: Coordinate and work with 3rd parties like statutory Auditors, cost auditors and consultants
 

C. Responsibilities/ Accountabilities of the job: Describe the main results expected from the job

  1. Key Result Areas: Monthly Business Performance Reporting

Major Activities:

  • Prepare and monitor CM1 (Contribution Margin) by customers, products and geography
  • Analyse company performance and explain variances
  • Monthly reporting of Fixed cost by function, net working capital, business performance
  • Comparative analysis with budget and previous periods
  • Verification of inventory valuation as per accounting standards and group guidelines
  • Review all elements of P&L on monthly basis as a part of month close process
  • Support the month-end close process for the business unit and the region as required
  • Check BPC financials reporting with financial books

Outcome:

  • Timely and accurate business reporting enabling good business decisions and planning

  1. Key Result Areas: Operational Planning (OP) and monthly forecast

Major Activities:

  • Prepare SBU-wise OP and co-ordinating with all functions and Regional Controlling (RHQ)
  • Ensure timely submission of information to management and RHQ
  • Verification of uploaded OP numbers into SAP system
  • Coordination with all functions and prepare rolling P&L forecast for submission to RHQ
  • Liaise with RHQ & Global Controlling for various matters pertaining to controlling & reporting

Outcome:

  • Timely and accurate operational planning reporting as per group guidelines
  • Timely and accurate business profit forecast reporting and monthly report to RHQ

  1. Key Result Areas: Local Statutory Audit

Major Activities:

  • Analytical review of Quarter and YTD comparative periods of financial statements
  • Resolving audit queries related to analytical reasoning during audit/limited review
  • Prepare different presentations for quarterly board meetings, audit committee meetings and quarterly earnings call
  • Periodic comparative analysis with competitors

Outcome:

  • Timely completion of limited review & Yearly audit with 100% accuracy of financial results

  1. Key Result Areas: Cost audit and records

  • Ensure cost records are maintained as per Cost audit record rules on quarterly basis
  • Prepare cost audit workings, cost sheets and annexures and get the same audited with Cost Auditor
  • Provide all the relevant information to cost auditor to ensure timely completion of cost audit

Outcome:

  • Ensure 100% compliance to cost audit compliance and record rules
  1. Other activities:

  • Provide data to INSTY Tax team (Local & Global) to support various tax related data requirements
  • Quarterly details to Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (Reserve Bank of India)
  • Seek out and implement process improvements to enhance consistency and reduce complexity across the financial and non-financial environment. 
  • Work cross-functional with sales, procurement, logistics and site operations to develop, validate and improve item/customer profitability.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial modeling and analysis to support the business unit/regional/global financial goals.

F. Required profile:

  • Level of education & Knowledge: MBA Finance (2-years full time) or Qualified ICWA from Institute of Cost & Management Accountants
  • Experience : 3-5 years post qualification experience in MNC manufacturing company

Technical skills:

  • Understanding of Accounting Standards – IFRS & IND AS (Indian Accounting Standards)
  • Understanding of Cost Accounting Standards, Principles and terminology
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Power Point and Word
  • SAP knowledge is MUST; Good hands on experience in FICO module of SAP
