Bulk Truck Logistics Coordinator

There are two Logistics Coordinator positions at the Addyston site. The current opening is for the Bulk Trucking Logistics Coordinator.

The Logistics Coordinator (Bulk Truck) is responsible for managing the day-to-day shipments of bulk trucks and bulk export shipping containers for INEOS ABS.  This person also manages the Canadian off-site bulk terminals for INEOS Styrolution Americas.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Manages the non-rail bulk shipments from the Addyston facility (150-200 shipments/month) for INEOS ABS.
  • Manages the inventory and shipments to/from the Canadian off-site bulk terminals for INEOS Styrolution.
  • Develops and publishes, twice daily, the bulk truck shipping schedule.  Acts as an extension of customer service by working with the bulk loading team, and the in-house bulk carrier dispatcher to fulfill bulk customer needs.
  • Works with the Rail Coordinator to plan and manage bulk inventories according to order fulfillment needs.
  • Liaison to the Business Team regarding available off-grade inventory, sales and coordination of off-grade shipments.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with the bulk loading team.
  • Accurately creates the delivery and shipment documents for all bulk (non-rail) shipments.
  • Accurately completes the post goods issue for all bulk (non-rail) shipments.
  • Maintains all bulk trucking shipment files.
  • Provides backup for the Addyston Logistics Rail Coordinator when they are off work.

Skills, Training, and Knowledge Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Five (5) years prior experience working in a logistics related environment is required.
  • Shipping and distribution experience a plus.
  • Inventory control and warehousing experience a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve conflicting requirements.
  • SAP experience (or equivalent).
  • Experience with railroad switching and associated rail safety requirements.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail in completing daily tasks
  • Decision Making – ability to make independent decisions based on sound judgement
  • Strong organizational and time management skills a must
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to organize and analyze data
  • Stress management - ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to work through others (non-direct reports).

Physical and Visual Acuity Requirements and Environmental conditions:

  • Primarily work at a moderate pace in an environmentally controlled office setting and reach at or below shoulder height using repetitive motion (computer station). Must be able to occasionally sit, stand, walk, and ascend and descend stairs.
  • May infrequently, when conducting Rail Coordinator duties at the car wash or inspecting rail cars, work outside around a noisy or extreme cold/heat environment, walk on uneven or wet/damp surfaces, work at heights, climb on ladders, and work around chemicals (AN, Bd, Styrene, MA and others) and allergens while wearing required PPE.
  • Scheduled eight to ten hours per day, five days per week. Possibility of working extra hours or weekends. Frequently working with fellow workers with both internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 1-10 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens and to adjust focus and to receive detailed information through oral communication, make discriminations in sound, and perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, with or without correction.
  • This position requires the employee to be alert, able to concentrate on their task at hand, and not impaired by medications (prescription, non-prescription, illegal or legal substances including alcohol), or any other mental condition which adversely affects alertness, concentration, or judgment.
