Main role purpose:

The post holder is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Brine and Water (B&W) assets. 
 

Key accountabilities & responsibilities: 

  • Ensure plant KPIs are adhered to and the plant is operated within agreed limits.
  • Monitor and adjust reagent addition rates as required to maintain specification, reacting to information from plant auto analysers and sample analysis. 
  • Conduct all tours, schedules, routines and plant checks to a routine schedule to a high standard. 
  • Respond and manage all relevant alarms taking appropriate prompt action. 
  • Carry out isolations and Permit to Work issuing as required to satisfy operational plan and maintenance team requirements. 
     

Key skills & experience: 

  • NVQ Level 3 in Process Operation or other relevant engineering trade; time served apprentice. 
  • Demonstrably high commitment to SHE standards.  
  • Physically fit as many aspects of the job have a high physical content.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills; tenacious and high regard for standards and thoroughness. 
  • Highly motivated, self-managing individual with a high degree of independence. 
  • Team player with a flexible approach to work patterns and skills.  
  • Readiness to lead when the situation requires without unnecessary recourse to immediate supervisor.  
  • A valid UK driving licence.
