A. Purpose / Role of the job : Describe in 1 phrase what contribution the job is expected to make to the organisation’s objectives
Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of the Steam Boilers & Accessories in order to keep the assets in healthy condition, improve plant reliability and availability. Implement best operation & maintenance practices, PM/PdM maintenance to reduce breakdown through SAP implementation and spares management. Analyse the upset/failure and take corrective & preventive action for future to avoid recurrence of the problem and resolve chronic issues. Ensure that all activities in Boiler area and associated contractors are done in accordance with INEOS Styrolution SHE guidelines and comply all IBR related statutory requirements.

Internal
- Compliance to INEOS Styrolution SHE guidelines.
- Compliance to quality standard ISO-9001 and Environment Management System (ISO-14001).
- Knowledge of efficient use of Boiler operations.

External - Work with Statutory Authorities and timely compliance to Boilers testing & inspection.
- Dealing with contractors for effective and safe work at site.

2. Key Result Areas: Efficient operation & Maintenance of Boiler and associated equipment Major Activities :
Outcome: Un-interrupted supply of steam to the production plants. |
3. Key Result Areas: Operate and adjust high pressure Boilers (PNG / FO / HSD Fired) in the steam generating plant. Major Activities :
Outcome : Reliable operation of steam boiler on different fuels. |
4. Key Result Areas: Efficiently perform the annual inspection, cleaning & Hydro-testing for re-certification as per Statutory requirements. Major Activities:
Outcome: Completion of Statutory compliances on time. |
5. Key Result Areas: Maintain oil heaters, Pumps, Furnace oil / HSD storage facilities and oil unloading equipment. Major Activities:
Outcome: Achieve availability & reliability of fuel supply system all the time. |
6. Key Result Areas: Maintain PNG (Piped Natural Gas)’s Pressure regulating system and also ensure zero leakage. Major Activities:
Outcome: Ensure healthiness of PNG skid. |
7. Key Result Areas: Perform the chemical testing and treatment of boiler feed water & maintain various records and reports related to Boiler operation. Major Activities:
Outcome: Ensure water quality for smooth operation boiler. |

F. Required profile:
Level of education & Knowledge:
- ITI Boiler Attendant with Boiler1st Class competency certified.
Experience in general:
- 2 to 4 years of work experience in boiler operations in a continuous process/chemical/petrochemical industry.
Technical skills:
- Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting of Boiler, DM plant & Softener Unit.
- Awareness about IBR Act and its requirement for Boiler operation.
- Awareness about the Boiler Safety controls and interlocks
- Awareness about Safety, Work permit system, Risk Assessment and Tool Box talk.
- Knowledge of Operation & maintenance of Boiler, pumps & blowers and other mechanical equipment used in Boiler area.
- Able to understand Boiler operation & service manual and related drawings.
Competencies, Behavioral skills: (acc. to competency profile and required level of descriptions)

- Under the provision (111-A) of the Factories Act 1948, reading with Gujarat Factory Rules 1963 about General Health & Safety, Emergency response, handling of hazardous substance
Job Requirements
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
- Walking up to 8 hours a day
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift upto 25 kg of weight
- Willing to work in shifts as and when required.
- Maintain Boiler logbook and other records as applicable.
