Asset SHE Permit Coordinator

We’re looking for an Asset SHE Permit Coordinator to join the INEOS Acetyls team

You will be based at the Hull site, which is the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride and ethyl acetate in Europe. The products we produce are essential building blocks used in almost every industry, including renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings and textiles.

Hull is also home to the business's global technology development and support team and is based on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park - a cluster of world-class chemicals and renewable energy businesses at the heart of the UK's energy estuary.

The opportunity

The purpose of this role is to provide continuity, co-ordination and expertise to ensure consistency in permit to work, work execution and work control processes aligned to SHE policies and procedures.  Provide a link between plant day support and the Shift Supervisors to ensure requirements are clear and prioritised in line with production needs.

The A5 plant is a top tier COMAH registered plant and the job holder has a key role in ensuring the assets are maintained in line with expectations on safety performance and operational integrity.

The A5 plant is part of the INEOS Acetyls business.  Reliable and efficient plant operation are key measures of asset performance that need to be achieved to ensure business requirements are met.

Accountabilities:

  • Uphold the “INEOS 20 BEHAVIOURAL & PROCESS SAFETY PRINCIPLES” & “Life Saving Rules” in all activities undertaken

CoW

  • Permit expert to guide others in preparation, issue and acceptance of permits. As well as permit co-ordination to ensure permits are issued efficiently to avoid delays
  • Ensure the CoW process for the Asset is working effectively
  • Lead on long duration or complex CoW to provide continuity

Operations

  • Manage the Ops training plan.
  • Troubleshoot issues with the shift operating teams and agree next steps
  • Recommend and support improvements to plant operational processes
  • Support the shift team with planned and unplanned outages / significant plant issues
  • Provide cover for the Operations Team Lead as required

AsCare

  • Monitor the Asset for adherence to AsCare housekeeping standards and ensure audits etc are conducted to continually improve standards
  • Responsible for driving improvement in aspects of AsCare Element 2 (Civils) and Element 3 (Asset Condition) to achieve annual targets

SHE

  • HSE rep on HITRA risk assessments.
  • Responsible for effective SHE management on the Asset.
  • Ops rep in the Human Factor reviews.
  • Manage the Good spot recording and close out for the Asset.
  • Conduct operational self-verification / audit activities.
  • Work with the SHE team Asset tag to implement the TAR safety plan.

Turnarounds

  • Play a key role in TAR preparation and execution.
  • Coordinate the preparation of permits for projects and turnarounds.

Level of education & experience:

  • NVQ3 in process operations or an equivalent qualification
  • 5-10 years experience in manufacturing operations (ideally petrochemical or refinery)
  • Experience of COMAH top tier chemical plant operation and maintenance
  • A-Type (Hot work / confined space) permit signatory
  • Expert understanding and proven practical application of Hull Site SSO's.
