Asset Project Lead

INEOS Hull Site is the European manufacturing facility for the Acetyls Business Unit and is of significant strategic importance to the Global Business, with a focus on Manufacturing Petrochemicals as well as Research & Technology. Our core product range is Acetic Acid and Acetic Anhydride.

To lead project engineering activities on the ETAC Asset to ensure delivery of the site’s ongoing CAPEX programme and to support major site development projects.

The EtAc plant is a upper tier COMAH registered plant and the job holder has a key role in ensuring the assets are operated and maintained safely to meet the company’s and the regulator’s expectations in terms of safety performance and operational integrity.

The EtAc plant is part of INEOS Acetyls business. Effective delivery of the site capital investment plan is key to meeting the business’s objectives. The site is currently embarking on a period of significant development and this role will be pivitol in delivering this on time and in budget.

To lead project engineering activities on the ETAC Asset to ensure delivery of the site’s ongoing CAPEX programme and to support major site development projects.

The job holder will take an overall lead on all site sustenance CAPEX projects <£1 million. Reporting progress against budget and timescale to the site leadership team on a monthly basis.

  • Development of user specifications.
  • Development and selection of design options
  • Development of cost estimates and schedules
  • Selection of contractors for Feasibility, FEED and delivery phases where appropriate.
  • Procurement of equipment
  • Detailed Engineering design where appropriate
  • Constructability reviews (Lead where appropriate)
  • Development of construction work packs and interface with permit signatories
  • Compilation of Management of change paperwork

The job holder will, as part of a project team, support major site developments working within the constraints of Site and Ineos wide procedures. This will include:

  • Acting as the key site contact for main contractors.
  • Participation in Design, Safety and Constructability reviews as required.
  • Coordination of the bidding process for Feasibility, FEED and delivery phases.
  • Responsibility for allocated individual scope items as per individual CAPEX project requirements (Accountability 2).
  • Tracking project costs and progress.
  • Interaction with equipment vendors to ensure delivery on time and on budget.
  • Input into the development of CAPEX paperwork.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in engineering discipline.
  • Experience of COMAH top tier chemical plant engineering standards and safety management systems
  • Ability to work effectively with other parts of the Company, suppliers and other 3rd parties to achieve the company goals.
  • A good working knowledge to national and international codes and standards pertaining to project engineering.
  • A good working knowledge of project planning and estimation techniques.
