Ineos Acetyls Hull is the European manufacturing facility and is of significant strategic importance to the global business, with a focus on manufacturing petrochemicals as well as research & technology. The Hull site produces three key products and operates six discreet manufacturing plants.
The A5 plant is part of the INEOS Acetyls business. Reliable and efficient plant operation are key measures of asset performance that need to be achieved to ensure business requirements are met.
The A5 plant is a top tier COMAH registered plant and the job holder has a key role in ensuring the assets are operated in line with expectations on safety performance and operational integrity.
The role of the Asset Performance Engineer is to monitor, manage and improve the A5 Asset performance on a day to day basis to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operation according to business requirements and objectives.
Accountabilities:
- Uphold the “INEOS 20 BEHAVIOURAL & PROCESS SAFETY PRINCIPLES” & “Life Saving Rules” in all activities undertaken, including managing integrity and operations within safe operating limits.
- Support the Operations Team Lead with day to day management of the A5 asset and associated services.
- Provide an overview of planned and unplanned plant transients, supporting the Operations Team Lead and Shift Supervisors. Support technical troubleshooting.
- Plant optimisation; through monitoring of PI data/trends to identify areas for process optimisation to meet plant performance targets. Work with the Process / Development Engineer to identify, and take forward, opportunities for process improvement.
- Manage the operational variable cost budget and conversion efficiency performance. Ensure plant operation meets conversion efficiency targets within plant technical standards and investigate deviations. Update plant technical standards each year demonstrating continual improvement.
- Responsibility for weekly and monthly production planning and ratifying month end production figures with the Business Team.
- Management of plant to meet reliability targets. Maintain up to date plant vulnerability lists. Management of reliability data. Maintain production loss reports, instigate root cause analysis and manage actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Quality assurance role for the process to ensure compliance with ISO9001.
- Operations specialist input to Management of Change (MOC) design. A MOC operations commissioning signatory.
- Develop plant operating procedures to enhance plant performance.
- Monitor and optimise catalyst performance and recovery cycle to deliver business targets for MPR and efficiency.
- Operational owner for all contracts associated with catalyst cycle and ensure these deliver the required catalyst supply.
- Operational owner for by-product and waste stream processing contracts.
- Provide cover for the Asset Manager and Operations Team Lead as required.
- Plant variable cost targets.
- Asset safety, reliability and overall production targets.
Level of Education & Experience
- HNC or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years experience in manufacturing operations.
- Experience of COMAH top tier chemical plant operation and day to day plant management.
