Asset Manager K1

Ineos Acetyls is a business engaged in the entire petrochemical value chain, from manufacturing through to marketing and sales. Ineos Acetyls is one of the world's leading manufacturers of acetic acid and its derivatives, and owns & deploys its leading technology in Europe, Asia and US.

Ineos Acetyls Hull is the European manufacturing facility and is of significant strategic importance to the global business, with a focus on manufacturing petrochemicals as well as research & technology. The Hull site produces three key products and operates six discreet manufacturing plants.

Purpose of the job is to lead all manufacturing and technical activities for the K1 Asset at the Hull Site so that INEOS Acetyls manufacturing objectives for the Ineos business and assets are achieved in full compliance with company SHE standards, all legal requirements, and within the approved budget for the Asset.

The K1 plant is part of the Acetyls organization based on Hull site. The K1 Asset Manager is accountable for ensuring the right resources & services are available to assure safe and reliable operations. This will be partly in-house Ineos resources, and also external parties (Site service provider).

Accountabilities:

Leading & improving the asset organisation:

  • Accountable for the SHE standards across the K1 asset
  • Adhere rigorously to the INEOS 20 Safety Principles, Life Saving Rules and Site policies/standards in all elements of asset operations to lead, drive and ensure required operational, SHE and legislative compliance performance.
  • Accountable for the technical integrity of the asset
  • Accountable for the definition of the operating envelope, and safe operation within that envelope
  • Deliver production volume against reliability/availability targets
  • Define Cash Fixed Costs budget, and control expenses vs. agreed budget
  • Control and minimise Cash Variable Costs
  • Deliver CAPEX investments on time, without SHE incident and to budget
  • Line manage all direct reports (and ensure same for 2nd reports) in compliance with policies and procedures to ensure current and future manning and development requirements are satisfied.
  • Develop, recommend and implement the future manufacturing strategies for the K1 Asset as part of the Acetyls complex so that future targets for SHE, MPR, quality, capex and cost reductions are met, and that manufacturing makes its full contribution to business profitability
  • Primary Operations contact for the Yara Business Manager
  • Identify, develop and implement improvement plans across all manufacturing activities, including technology road maps
  • Identify growth & debottleneck projects
  • Guide and coach the operations and maintenance engineers
  • Lead and develop the capabilities of the K1 manufacturing organisation
  • Manage all key people issues in the asset
  • Ensure effective communications with the Site Manager to develop and strengthen the business performance
  • Leading part of the Incident management response team for the Ineos Acetyls assets.

 Level of Education & Experience:

  • Degree qualified in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineer or Chemist
  • 10 years experience in Petrochemical Asset operations
  • Proven track record of leadership roles within chemical production/engineering management
  • Operational experience of COMAH registered installation
  • Good understanding of business financials
  • Fluent in English

Technical Skills:

  • Petrochemical Technology knowledge
  • Previous experience in manufacturing areas and technical evaluation
  • Project planning and executing
  • Previous experience of managing the Performance measurement of an asset
  • Organisational knowledge
