The Position: Americas Logistics Manager -This position is responsible for ensuring the cost effective, on time shipment of all products via rail as well as all liquid products via truck while minimizing our fixed and variable costs and maximizing customer satisfaction. 

What you will do:

  • Ensure INEOS Styrolution fully meets Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and regulatory obligations and is in compliance with all regulatory agencies that apply to this function.
  • Lead the annual and strategic planning process for INEOS Styrolution’s hopper and tank car assets
  • Ensure the infrastructure required to support the operating businesses is developed and implemented (fleet size, storage yards, maintenance, inspection and cleaning programs, car/truck specifications, etc.)
  • Vendor contract negotiation including selection and performance monitoring for tank truck carriers
  • Manage the rail asset acquisition and disposition processes including vendor negotiation and selection to meet business needs
  • Maintain operational support for INEOS Styrolution rail fleet including:
    • tracing, expediting and repositioning
    • inspection, cleaning, and maintenance
    • transit time maintenance
    • asset utilization analysis and reporting
    • car records and registry maintenance
    • regulatory compliance
  • Direct, develop and manage performance of the liquid Rail/Truck Schedulers
  • Responsible for negotiation of all rail freight. 
  • Lead Incident investigations on spills, NARS (non-accidental release), customer complaints
  • Optimize logistics’ options for internal or customer supply
  • Provide Sales Teams with timely and up-to-date information regarding rates, transportation challenges, and NCR root cause analysis
  • Represent/promote INEOS Styrolution through participation in industry and community activities
  • Manage the operational logistics function including:
    • rate and route management
    • invoice payment
    • claims management

What you will bring:

Level of education & knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, business or related field
  • Seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years related experience with 3 in a managerial position

Experience in general:

  • 3-5 years of railroad and fleet related experience or equivalent combination of education and logistics experience.
  • 3 years’ experience in supervising or leading others.

Technical skills:

  • Working knowledge of DOT, TDG regulations regarding the movement of hazardous, time sensitive materials
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize data into a clear, concise picture/message or call to action.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation of positive change, communications, team building, and conflict resolution skills a must.
