INEOS Tyssedal is the only European producer of TiO2 slag and high-purity pig iron. Our operation includes a rotary kiln, smelting furnace, crushing facilities and supporting infrastructure. Reliability, asset integrity and maintenance excellence are critical to our success and future growth. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Reliability & Engineering Manager to lead reliability, asset integrity and maintenance strategy across our site.

The Role

This position combines leadership, reliability engineering, maintenance strategy, asset integrity and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for driving equipment reliability, improving maintenance effectiveness, strengthening asset integrity and developing engineering capabilities across the site. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance and Project teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable and cost-effective plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a strong culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Improve plant reliability, availability, and asset performance.
  • Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Lead reliability engineering, root cause analysis, and equipment improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor reliability KPIs and maintenance performance metrics.
  • Drive asset integrity, critical equipment management, and lifecycle strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory inspections, and safe operating practices.
  • Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve equipment ownership and performance.
  • Lead the site's preventive maintenance, condition monitoring (CBM), and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage the Maintenance Planning function, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, and prioritization of maintenance activities.
  • Lead and develop the site's engineering, reliability, condition monitoring, and maintenance planning capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and competence development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Proven experience in maintenance, reliability, asset management or asset integrity roles.
  • Experience in heavy industry, process industry, mining, metals, chemicals, energy, pulp & paper or similar environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in engineering or maintenance organizations.
