Group Accountant

About INEOS
INEOS is one of the world’s leading chemical companies with operations across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.  Known for our entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic, fast-moving environment, we pride ourselves on delivering excellence and innovation across our diverse portfolio.

The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail orientated Accountant to join our Group Finance team. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Financial Controller, supporting the preparation and maintenance of the Group’s financial and management accounts. A central aspect of the role is coordinating financial inputs from multiple INEOS entities worldwide, which requires confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence without direct authority.

Success in this position demands adaptability and a proactive mindset. INEOS operates in a dynamic environment shaped by acquisitions, disposals, and refinancings, so you will need to thrive amid change and work effectively in a minimally structured setting. The role also involves frequent interaction with senior stakeholders both within the organisation and externally, making professionalism, clear communication, and strong relationship-building skills essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly Group and Holdco/Corporate management accounts, quarterly interim statements, and annual audited accounts.
  • Support year-end processes, audits, and consolidation in HFM (Hyperion).
  • Lead annual IAS 19 pension postings, review business bonus/LTIP submissions, and compile turnover analyses.
  • Consolidate and review annual budgets across INEOS and prepare CFO-level reporting and presentation materials.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Drive process improvements, maintain robust controls, and support Group refinancings and ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Prepare financial analyses, covenant testing, cash flow slides for the CFO, and submissions for National Statistics reporting.

Requirements:

  • Newly qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant with 2+ years’ experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, FRS 101) and advanced Excel skills
  • Highly organised, process driven, and thrives under tight deadlines
  • Ability to self-motivate and manage own workload with minimal supervision, ensuring high-quality, timely outcomes.
  • Strong communicator who can influence at all levels and drive results
  • Experience with Hyperion (HFM) is advantageous
