The post holder is responsible for ensuring that resources (equipment, materials and people) are fully optimised through maintenance plans to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Runcorn Site.

Accountabilities:

  • Liaise within site engineering and operations teams to obtain and manage the technical information and specifications required to plan maintenance activity.
  • Analyse and prepare job methods and Bills of Materials so that all required resources are identified to enable the safe and efficient execution of planned and emergent work.
  • Obtain cost approval and order materials so they are available prior to work execution.
  • Integrate a variety of multi-discipline jobs into an event plan to optimise the utilisation of resources.
  • Supervise maintenance activities during planned events and projects to ensure safe and efficient delivery of all work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Time served, ideally educated to HNC/HND level or similar in mechanical or plant maintenance. Post apprenticeship qualifications are preferable.
  • Practical, hands-on mechanical maintenance experience and accustomed to working on your own or within a team to manage worklists efficiently.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering diagrams and pipe specifications.
  • Proven experience of planning tasks or overhauls within a heavy engineering, oil and gas (offshore or onshore) or chemical process plant with a high tier COMAH status.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of safe systems of work, including site instructions, risk assessments and work control sheets.
  • A good knowledge of contractor methodology.
  • Experienced in the use of SAP, preferably P06 and above. Experience in the use of CMMS (PACE, MAXIMO, DIMOMAINT etc..).  Previous experience in developing detailed schedules of work using Primavera P6 is desirable.
  • Able to manage multi-disciplined jobs simultaneously and adaptable to sudden changes in priorities, whilst always maintaining excellent SHE standards.
  • A detailed understanding of statutory inspections, particularly written scheme of examinations and inspection reports; good understanding of heavy lifting techniques.
  • Confident and communitive, able to liaise with people at all levels of the business and direct a multi-skilled workforce.
