About the Job

This is a Safety Critical Role. The Operations Manager leads and manages the operations at Ashtabula Plant 1, providing overall leadership for the safe, reliable, legally compliant, environmentally sound, and profitable manufacture of products at this plant according to business management strategy. A key accountability is the continuous improvement of the site performance for development and future growth.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensure adherence to the INEOS Pigments Process and Behavioral Safety Principles and Life Saving Rules
  • Ensure assets are operated within their designed parameters
  • Have employees and systems prepared to respond to site emergencies
  • Assure compliance with environmental permits and legal regulations
  • Deliver budgeted controllable fixed costs and variable efficiencies per agreed values annually
  • Evaluate Capex requirements and deliver results of projects
  • Achieve reliability target for production
  • Deliver on quality, budgeted production volumes
  • Contribute inputs, review, and challenge site strategy
  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and decision-making to ensure employees understand company goals and have the knowledge and resources needed to accomplish them
  • Assure compliance with HR policies and applicable state/federal laws
  • Manage the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Manage personnel (including performance, compensation, succession planning, and discipline)
  • Drive continuous improvement to optimize plant operations
  • Foster teamwork across the shifts and with all other functional groups to ensure that activities are well-aligned with maximum impact
  • Ensures that the workplace is free of harassment and discrimination and that individuals are treated with respect

About You


You should possess:

  • B.S. degree, preferably in engineering
  • More than ten years of manufacturing experience, including at least one role as an Operations Manager/Superintendent to ensure a strong understanding of the operating environment. 
  • Experience in a leadership role is desired to develop and demonstrate required leadership competencies
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
  • Functionality with various computer programs (SAP, word, excel, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of safety, environmental, and emergency response requirements
Schedule/Hours

This is a salaried exempt, day shift position.
